On May 26th there was record breaking heat with a temperature of 95 degrees and there was a birthday celebration for Brooks and Brynn in their back yard! They had turned one the day before and on this Saturday morning their family and friends gathered for lunch and some fun in the water to help everyone stay cool.
Sesame Street was the theme for their first birthday. Lunch was hot dogs and burgers grilled by their dad, chips, pasta and cornbread salad, baked beans, corn on the cob, cookies, brownies, peach cobbler and of course cake and ice cream.
The stars of the show had a great time with their new water table, a gift from their parents.
They enjoyed visiting with all their friends.
They tried corn on the cob!
There was a whole pile of presents to open. Brooks and Brynn enjoy the wrappings as much as the presents!
The birthday boy and girl had their own cake to enjoy!
Brynn does not like to get dirty. She would rather talk on her cell phone!
But Brooks decided to dive right in!
There was some water fun on the slip and slide!
Some crawling around in the grass. . .
And no birthday would be complete without party hats!
